Bushinkai is comprised of two academies, the Metal Tiger Academy teaching traditional Tai Chi; and the White Lion Academy teaching Hakuda Kempo Toshu Jutsu.
What is Hakuda Kempo Toshu Jutsu?
HKTJ is a system of Karate and Jujutsu that returns the arts to their origin as a complete method self defence. Hakuda (a method of Jujutsu particular to southwest Japan) and Toshu Jutsu (an old name for Okinawan Karate) were developed from many sources including Chinese Quan Fa (Kempo). Different schools of Quan Fa (also called Kung Fu) including Lion boxing, Crane boxing, Form-Mind boxing and Eight Trigram boxing.
How does Hakuda Kempo Toshu Jutsu differ from say Shotokan Karate?
HKTJ includes the kind of throws found in Judo, the kind of groundwork found in Jujutsu, the kind of controls found in Aikido combined with the postural benefits of Tai Chi and the weapons of Kobudo – but Toshu Jutsu is not a hotchpotch – these skills have always been in Karate, but it has been dumbed down over the years for the masses.
When can I train in Toshu Jutsu?

Who runs the White Lion Academy?
Simon Keegan, who holds the grade of 5th Dan blackbelt with the World Union of Karatedo Federations and the title of Renshi. Keegan Sensei follows in an 8 generation family tradition and has trained with several Japanese and Chinese masters. His father Sifu David Keegan runs the Metal Tiger Academy
