Focus: Regional Instructor Dan Sanchez 2nd Dan

Dan Sanchez holds the unique distinction of being the first Bushinkai student to be awarded Black Belt 1st Dan (jointly with Jamie Tozer) and also the first to be awarded 2nd Dan. He joined Bushinkai in around 2007 having previously studied Shukokai Karate. Dan regraded and has also taken his assistant instructor, club instructor and regional instructor qualifications. He is the senior student in the club and often teaches class readying students for grading. He has an excellent repertoire of kata including Tekki, Bassai and Empi, is proficient in several weapons including Jo, Sai and Tanto and is also superb at grappling. Dan has a keen interest in MMA and BJJ and has trained with several leading coaches in this discipline. He serves as a frontline police officer and so has a lot more experience than many instructors when it comes to making techniques work under pressure.
