Study Hakuda Kempo Toshu Jutsu (Traditional Karate and Jujutsu)

Hakuda Kempo Toshu Jutsu is an efficient system of self defence but also a pioneering gateway to understanding real Karate and Jujutsu.

Developing Hakuda Kempo Toshu Jutsu, along with his studies into The Lost Book of Kushanku: The Genesis of Karate, Simon Keegan is now teaching the system openly at our headquarters in Manchester.

Classes suitable for all abilities (age 16 and over please):

Thursdays, 8pm-9:30pm, 12 Newton Street (next to the Roadhouse), near Piccadilly Gardens, Manchester.

Classes cost just £6 for and hour and a half and there’s plenty of cheap parking nearby and ideal for train and tram.

Learn a complete system of martial arts:

  • Simple, basic and practical self defence based on the Bushinkai Method
  • Techniques include throws, strikes, locks and chokes
  • Study traditional weapons including Jo, Nunchaku and Sai
  • Stick and knife techniques
  • Learn traditional kata forms such as Heian, Tekki, Bassai, Kanku, Empi, Wan kan, Nijushiho, Jutte, Meikyo and their true combat applications
  • Sparring and grappling
  • Two man flow drills and grappling sequences

SIMON KEEGAN (Senior international Instructor)

  • 5th Dan Shobukan Karate (World Union of Karatedo Federations) – graded on the mat by Shobukan headteacher
  • 4th Dan Renshi Shoto Ryu Karate and Jujutsu – recognised by WKA & WKF (founder member of EKF), Renshi title awarded via UK headteacher of Dai Nippon Butokukai
  • 3rd Dan Nisseikai Karate – graded on the mat with Kokusai Budoin (IMAF) in division headed by headteacher Tadanori Nobetsu
  • 2nd Dan Nihon Jujutsu – graded on the mat and subsequently recognised in Kokusai Budoin (IMAF) under headteacher Shizuya Sato
  • 2nd Dan Judo (honourary) – awarded by Kodokwan, European Jujitsu Union, Aichi Judo Club, Japan
  • 2nd Duan Kung Fu (Taiji Quan) – now teaching under British Council for Chinese Martial Arts (via Shikon)
  • Grades up to 4th Dan recognised by hereditary Shogun of Japan Tokugawa Yasuhisa
  • Author of the groundbreaking Lost Book of Kushanku

KICKI HOLM (National instructor and Kata Coach)

  • 2nd Dan Shotokan Karate International (SKI)
  • Trained and graded under one of the great Karate masters of all time Hirokazu Kanazawa 10th Dan
  • Both of her parents were martial artists and her father was chairman of Copenhagen Taekwondo Club
  • God-daughter of Sabumnim Ko Tai Jeong (Master Ko) 8th Dan
  • 9 time international gold medalist, 7 time silver medalist, 4 time bronze medalist
  • Competed in Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Italy, and Greece
  • Finished 4th place in the Shotokan World Championships in Athens, Greece 2009

DAN SANCHEZ (Regional instructor and Kata Coach)

  • 2nd Dan Karate (Hakuda Kempo Toshu Jutsu)
  • 2nd Dan Jujutsu
  • Serving frontline police officer
  • Also trains in MMA/BJJ including a seminar with Brazilian BJJ World champion
  • Previously studied Shukokai Karate
  • Senior student in Bushinkai and the first to gain both 1st Dan and 2nd Dan
