Summer 2015: Bushinkai’s 15th Anniversary Celebration Course

Next year marks the 15th anniversary of the Bushinkai Academy and we will be celebrating with a reunion and dinner, but most importantly with an open seminar of interest to any practitioners of Karate, Jujutsu or Kung Fu.

As of 2015…

  • Simon founded the Bushinkai Academy 15 years ago in 2000
  • Has formally studied Shotokan-Budokan based systems as an adult for 20 years since 1995
  • Joined his first club 25 years ago in 1990
  • Informally studied martial arts for about 30 years since about 1985
Before WKA fight 1999

Simon as a 1st Dan in last 1999 or early 2000

  • Chief instructor of Bushinkai
  • Pioneer of Hakuda Kempo Toshu Jutsu and the Bushinkai Method
  • 8th generation family boxing tradition (Sakugawa Ryu)
  • 5th Dan Shobukan Karate (Shikon & World Union of Karatedo Federations)
  • Received title Renshi (polished teacher) in Shoto Ryu Karate via a Dai Nippon Butokukai grandmaster
  • Founder member of English Karate Federation (WKF) and awarded 4th Dan Karate/Jujutsu by WKA
  • Graded up to 3rd Dan with Japan’s oldest Budo fraternity Kokusai Budoin and trained under masters Nobetsu and Sato
  • Holds grades of 2nd Dan in Nihon-den Jujutsu, Judo (honourary) and Kung Fu (Taiji Quan)
